WEDNESDAY’S ANIMAL WISDOM ~ Animals from the Colour Deck of Divine Intent (the 1-13 Colour Rays)
From time to time, an Animal paper — in summary or in full — will be published here on the website (and/or on the Facebook page) with the intention to introduce them to a new audience or perhaps reacquaint them with you if you have ‘met’ them already. The aim is to always present these Animals on a Wednesday, although some Wednesdays there may be no calling/need to feature a creature! So please check in here on a Wednesday if you wish to keep track of this series.

This Wisdom series, begun in 2016, aims to introduce some of the Animals who share the natural world with all Beings. Many of these Animals have shared their wisdom over the past 16+ years with us and may be found throughout the Peace Space work. On occasion, the Wednesday Wisdom Animal will be new, previously unpublished in any of the existing Peace Space manuals. All are shared here with thanks to Peace Space contributors — past, present and future.

Having Enough — Letting Go

Most everyone is familiar with these lovable creatures who live in most parts of the world and appear in bedtime stories, children’s books and movies. One should never be surprised by the diversity of Spiritual Wisdom the Squirrel can impart. As a spiritual totem animal, the Squirrel, like other rodents, will remind you they have four front teeth that do not stop growing. So that their teeth never wear down, the Squirrel will constantly gnaw on trees, bark and nuts to maintain a constant level of growth. Squirrel suggests to you to have a look at what your are prepared to ‘get your teeth into’ so that you learn your way through life. Are you prepared to face your challenges head on and experience the wisdom of your learning?

Squirrel is calling you to be prepared to move forward in life. It teaches you to be prepared and plan for what is ahead of you, just like Squirrel knows to hunt and gather nuts to store for the winter time when food supplies are lean. Squirrel also teaches you to take only as much as you need, because by next Spring time nature will supply food once again. Energetically, Squirrel is asking you to be careful to take only as much as you need for yourself and not to over-store too much energy at one time. Do not carry around unnecessary things like opinions, worries, and fears for they will block and weigh you down. Keep your load light and take only those things that bring you balance, stability and nourishment for the next leg of the journey.

Though a sociable animal, Squirrel will not favour strangers getting too close. They will ‘squirrel away’ their food caches in holes dug deep in the Earth to keep safe their provisions for themselves and their family. Squirrel is showing you how to take precaution and protect what you have that belongs to you energetically. Keep safe those provisions you have made, both physically and spiritually, for your family and community— even those new projects or creations you have on the go. Keep an eye out and stay in touch with all you intuit and are seeing and sensing.

There are three types of Squirrels: Ground Squirrels, Tree Squirrels and Flying Squirrels. When any one of them appears to you they are calling to you to be in tune with your environment and what it provides for you to live well and be safe. Like the Ground Squirrels, have you dug and built a life for yourself that provides for and protects all that you care for and those you share with? Or is the Tree Squirrel who dwells in the parklands of cities and the forested woodlands calling out to you to be aware of the traffic of a busy world where you can risk congestion, critical comment or competition? Or is it, maybe, time to retreat and meditate with the nocturnal Flying Squirrel as it glides from branch to branch looking for new morsels of sustenance to nourish itself and family?

Squirrel wisdom and its mastery will lead you to find new ‘nuts to crack’ (change and growth) for a sounder existence, instead of ‘just going NUTS’!
